Billboard — Release notes
v1.0.1 — 7 July 2026
Everything below ships in v1.0.1, across the Billboard dashboard and the Billboard app for Apple TV.
Apple TV app
- Turn any Apple TV into a customisable Conference Room Display with your own images and video, playing full-screen with smooth crossfades.
- A drifting AirPlay panel so anyone in the room can still cast, showing your branding and network details — with Frosted, Medium and Glass styles.
- The AirPlay panel matches Apple's Conference Room Display and shows your network name, labelled "Network" so it reads correctly on Wi-Fi or Ethernet.
- An on-screen clock and an account notice, both with a frosted-glass look, that drift slightly over time to prevent burn-in on always-on screens.
- Screens check for changes on the refresh interval you choose and update on their own — no restart.
- Read the privacy policy right on the Apple TV, from Settings.
- A Developer mode overlay shows sync status, countdowns and app version at a glance for troubleshooting a display.
- Gentler wording when a screen is paused for being over your plan's limit.
- Now available in public beta on TestFlight — join from the website or the "Get the app" link in your dashboard.
Galleries & content
- Manage every screen from one dashboard, with instant updates and live monitoring.
- Build galleries of images and video, and schedule content to appear and disappear on set dates.
- A redesigned gallery with boxed 16:9 previews, so each thumbnail shows exactly what appears on screen.
- Drag and drop to reorder your media.
- Select several images at once to remove them together, with a confirmation step before anything is deleted.
- A drag-and-drop upload experience with per-file progress.
Photo framing & cropping
- Every image is automatically cropped and optimised to fill a Full HD screen.
- Choose exactly how each photo is framed with a 16:9 crop tool, and re-frame any time.
- Keep your original photos to re-crop whenever you like, or finalise crops to save storage — your choice, per account.
- iPhone photos (HEIC) are supported and converted automatically on upload.
Settings & account
- A single Settings panel — General, Gallery, Billing, Storage, Security and Account — on desktop and mobile.
- Link directly to any settings section from around the app.
- Add a display photo or company logo, and pick an accent colour for your dashboard.
- See where you're signed in, and sign out of all devices, from Security.
- A Storage page showing what you've used, plus tools to manage original photos and reclaim space.
- Set an account-wide notice that shows across all of your screens.
- Send feedback — with an optional screenshot — straight from the account menu.
- Sign in with Google or Microsoft, or reset your password by email.
- Permanently delete your account and all of its data at any time.
Billing & plans
- Flat, screen-based pricing with automatic limit enforcement.
- Upgrade without leaving Billboard with in-app checkout, and manage your saved cards and invoice history inside Billing.
- Every plan includes media storage.
Branding & display
- Tint the AirPlay panel and choose its glass — Frosted, Medium or clear.
- Set an exact brand colour by hex code.
- Show your network as a join step on the panel, and an on-screen clock.
Privacy
- Cookie-consent controls — analytics load only after you agree, and you can change your choice at any time.
- A public privacy policy and terms & conditions.
Help & support
- A Help & Support centre with deployment guides for Jamf, Jamf School, Intune, Mosyle, Kandji, SimpleMDM, Cisco Meraki, Apple Configurator and Apple Business Manager.
- Everyday Apple TV guides — pairing and resetting the remote, restarting and resetting, installing configuration profiles, and keeping a screen always-on.
- Step-by-step guides with screenshots for creating galleries, uploading media, customising the display, billing and your account — searchable and tagged.
- Dedicated pages for schools and universities.
Performance & reliability
- Faster dashboard loads and quicker, more reliable delivery of content to every screen.
- Dark mode across the whole dashboard.
- Stronger protection for your uploaded media.
- Fixed: creating a gallery could occasionally create two, and switching plans could risk a duplicate subscription — both resolved. A single-image gallery now holds steady instead of fading in and out.
